Use the sliders to investigate the effect of the ligand-field strength
(Doct or Dtet) and the interelectron repulsion (measured through the Racah B parameter)
on the spin-allowed transitions and magnetic moment of high-spin transition metal complexes. Change the dn configuration and the geometry type to investigate
the effect of the electron count and complex shape on the spectrum.
(n.b. each band has been arbitarily given an intensity of 100 but
the effect of band overlap can be seen).
Once you have covered all of the available resources for electronic
spectroscopy, you should test your knowledge and understanding with the self test.
