The wavelength (l), frequency (n) and velocity (v) of a wave are related by the equation:

v = l x n


The frequency is the number of waves passing each second. The wavelength is the distance from peak to peak (or from trough to trough). The velocity is the distance travelled by the wave every second. The amplitude is the height of the peak.
