Merit Grades


The common result grades awarded in First Year Chemistry units are:

Grade Description Mark Range (%)
HD High Distinction 85-100
DI Distinction 75-84
CR Credit 65-74
PS Pass 50-64
FA Fail 0-49
AF Absent Fail Usually idicates non-attendance at labs and / or failure to attend the examination
IC Incomplete Usually indicates non-attendance or an incomplete lab programme and an othewise satisfactory performance..

(The concessional pass 'PCON' is no longer used.)
